The fact that we are fortunate enough to live and do business in one of the most magical settings on Earth is not missed on us. That’s why Edgewood Companies is passionately committed to supporting and empowering our community and the many neighborly initiatives that bolster the quality of life in the Tahoe area through our Hearts & Heritage platform.

  • In partnership with George Whittell and South Tahoe High School’s Booster Clubs, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course hosted the 35th Annual Booster Club Golf Tournament, which raised $50,000 for area high schools. This event has raised over $950,000 over the last 35 years.
  • During the 2019 American Century Championship, we partnered with the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation, and Tahoe-Douglas Rotary for volunteer services at concession tents around the golf course. In return, these organizations received a combined total of $60,000 for their educational programs.
  • In partnership with NBC Sports, we continually support exceptional local high school students through the Gene Upshaw Scholarship Award. Click here to view an article about the 2019 award presentation by the Tahoe Daily Tribune.
  • At the conclusion of every golf season, we host the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe fundraiser tournament, regularly raising between $45,000 and $55,000 on their behalf.
  • We donate over $100,000 annually to local charities and civic organizations, as well as providing in-kind contributions such as overnight resort stays, rounds of golf, or culinary offerings to help these charities raise additional, much-needed funds.

We currently offer Lodge bookings through Kind Traveler, the booking site that allows customers to donate a minimum of $10 to Take Care Tahoe – or another charity of their choice – in exchange for a discounted rate plus additional perks during their stay. Take Care Tahoe identifies simple actions that visitors, residents, and businesses can take to keep Tahoe beautiful. These include tactics for keeping watercraft free of invasive species, tips for fire safety, guidelines for reducing nutrient and other pollutant runoff, proper trail etiquette, responsible river use, and ways to prevent bears from seizing food waste.

Our goal is to focus our patronage on these four core areas:

  • Local Community
  • Education
  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • Out-of-Market opportunities that allow us to highlight our luxury Golf, Spa, and Lodge offerings.
